Graduating from hotel management school was Reto's long-awaited childhood dream. His main focus was the role of a host, especially since Reto likes to approach people openly and is interested in different life experiences. Towards the end of his education at SHL, he also discovered his enthusiasm for business and organisational dimensions. «The human factor is also the central success factor in these areas,» Reto is convinced. So, it is not surprising that Reto found his way into various HR departments relatively quickly after graduating from SHL, and so began to build bridges between corporate and personnel needs. Today Reto is head of HR at the Genossenschaft Migros Luzern, where he takes great pleasure in shaping and continuously developing the Migros HR policy with his dedicated team. And what has become of the connection to the hotel & catering industry, Reto? «Migros Luzern employs over 700 people in the area of gastronomy & catering - so the contact with my fascinating ‘home industry’ has definitely remained».

The horseradish sauce that was peppered with white plastic shavings because a colleague used the wrong plug for the machine during cooking lesson and shaved it at the same time. You should have seen Pius Casanova, the lecturer at the time!

As a resident of Lucerne, I
love the wonderful location of this city on the lake with a view of the unique mountain panorama. I get to live here where others spend their holidays.
