About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the housekeeping department, the housekeeping trainee is responsible for supporting the housekeeping department in ensuring cleanliness in the rooms, preparing them for the guests arrival and cooperate with other relevant departments to make the guests’ stay unforgettable. The housekeeping trainee reports to the Executive Housekeeper.

As Housekeeping Trainee, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Independent organisation of the smooth running of your shift
• Controlling the cleaned rooms, public areas as well as back areas
• Complying with all hygiene and Mandarin Oriental quality standards
• Coordinating additional tasks on the floor
• Noting guest preferences and handling guest requests and questions in the housekeeping area to create memorable guest experiences
• Handling guest complaints from receipt to resolution
• Taking on projects and other administrative tasks

• Good communication skills - guests will approach you with complaints as well as positive feedback. Therefore, you are always open and approachable
• Excellent manners and a well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position includes weekend and holiday shifts
• Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
