Admission Requirements

In addition to fulfilling the basic requirements, ideal candidates for the combined degree programme Professional Bachelor (SHL) and Bachelor of Science (HSLU) in Hospitality Management are determined future hoteliers with an entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to quality, passion for creating outstanding customer experiences and the hospitality industry.

  • Age: 18 years
  • Academic Requirements: High school diploma or Swiss Matura, Berufsmatura, EFZ or equivalent
  • Language Requirements (accepted qualifications include, but are not limited to):
    IELTS 6.0
    TOEFL (iBT) minimum 70 points
    University of Cambridge English Certificate, minimum score 170

    Alternatively, you may submit evidence that you have spent minimum the last five years of school with English as the main language of instruction.

Transfers & Direct Entry Students

We accept applications from students who have completed part of their training in the German HF programme at SHL or who wish to transfer to SHL from another hotel management school.

Exemptions for professionals

Students who have completed basic training in the hospitality industry with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ) may be excused in part of the programme.
